I love this room.
It truly is my happy place and favorite room in our home. I had so much fun pulling everything together. My world revolves around telling stories and I love all of the little stories and memories behind some of the pieces.
I knew I wanted a white iron crib. It's timeless and classic. The crib is from Bratt Decor. I purchased this one during a holiday sale, which was awesome to save a few bucks!
Frankie's bedskirt is an Etsy find! I can't wait until she grows (well, actually, I can wait), so I can drop the mattress and it'll puddle more on the floor. I was so pleased with the quality!
I love greenery, but knew it would be silly for a real tree to be in her room. I also have a black thumb, so there's that. SO I found this faux fiddle from World Market. I used my explorer discount AND on a day they offered free shipping.
The fiddle's basket is from Home Goods.
I knew I wanted a window treatment that could be used in her future big girl room. The hardware is from Pottery Barn, but unfortunately is no longer available. The finials are antique glass with brass finishes. I had been eyeing curtains from RH for a while! I physically went into the store to look at the ones I liked and then snagged them while on sale (final sale, that is). I love them and love knowing I can use them anywhere in my house.
Oh how I love these sweet dresses when you walk into her room.
I received both of the dresses from my shower in Birmingham. The white dress was actually a pillow case that was my paternal grandmother's. It was handmade by my moms best friend, who is really like a second mom to me. The pink dress was hand made by my Godmother. She spent many hours making dresses for me, that I still have hung in my closet. It's been so fun dressing my little girl in my old dresses!
I bought the hooks from World Market.
I loathe shopping for rugs. I guess because it's so difficult to take them back if they don't work in your space! I LOVE the colors in this one from Urban Outfitters! I knew I wanted the majority of the nursery to be neutral and have a pop of fun texture on the floor. Big rug. Little price.
I love how Pottery Barn's gliders have slipcovers, so it's washable :) I bought mine in linen blend white. I know... white glider? Nursery? Well the washable slipcover has so far come in handy! Also, PB randomly has awesome sales on their gliders!
I don't like many things on the wall in our house. I wish I had a better reason why except for I just like minimal things on the wall, ha.
The top shelf has a nursery rhyme book from a sweet family friend (more like family) who has been in my life since I was born. It means a lot to have something from her in Frankie's room. The purse was actually mine when I was a little girl.
The gold box and pink ceramic trinket came from Michael's. They have a great app, which is always full of coupons. I remember getting both items for $5. Michaels is a store I never buy anything for full price! Well, most stores I refuse to buy anything full price :)
Frankie is named after my maternal grandmother (Gladys Mae) and those are her pearls in the gold box. I love family names (I'm named after my paternal grandmother) and I can't wait to tell her stories about both of them and how they shaped me into the woman and mom I am today.
The ABC box used to be in my nursery!
I had SUCH a hard time deciding on what shelves to use in this room. I really like the visual of floating shelves and went with some acrylic ones the Container Store.
Two of my favorite pieces in her room are her dresser and mirror. Both were mine as a little girl and so special to pass down. I had fun re finishing and re painting the dresser with my mom! I kept the original hardware for the classic, antique look.
Lastly we have a framed print with Isaiah 40:11. It's a verse that's a reminder from our trip to Israel. I'll never forget seeing shepherds on the hills with their flock. It was and still remains a visual of our Savior and how He leads us.
"He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young."
I sent inspiration of a photo to a colleague of mine who is incredibly talented with design. He created an image for me and I uploaded it to Framebridge and went with the Ventura (Pewter Metallic) frame.
It was printed, framed, packaged and shipped to me a week later. It was my first time using Framebridge and thought it was the easiest process! I love how you can receive designer advice and they'll send you 4 options they think looks best. I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend it.
Thanks for taking time to read about Frankie's sweet nursery!
